Water Country USA is all buttoned up now. The rides and water lines are drained so they have no residual water to freeze this winter. Water has also been shut off to most areas of the park, and won’t be turned back on until April 2011.
Our maintenance staff is already busy repainting structures in the park. They freshen up the area while also replacing boards and concrete. Ever notice the colorful, soft, foamy bottoms in several splash pools? That surface is called no-fault and takes three days to dry. This is only possible to do during the off-season so we don’t have to shut down the rides. We take advantage of this time and get to work making the park look new again.
There is one area of the park that still has water … the area under construction. The land is starting to clear and supplies are slowly moving in. Check back all winter for updates on construction as I’ll do my best to keep you in the loop as Vanish Point gets ready for 2011
