The Right Stroke

This is my favorite topic because it’s near to my heart – swim lessons. Last year was the first summer we offered swim lessons at Water Country USA. I know as a mother that swim lessons are hard to get children into because the classes fill up quickly and the times are not always convenient. We figured we have lots of pools and our instructors want children to enjoy time in the water safely, so we sent some of our lifeguard instructors to a Water Safety Instructor class and then started to offer classes last summer.

My children took four weeks of classes last year at Water Country USA and my five year old went from being afraid of the water to swimming on his own across the pool. He asks me all the time when can he take swim lessons at Water Country USA again. He loved the lessons and he also enjoyed staying in the park for a few hours after class.

This year we are going to offer swim lessons again for Parent Child classes, Preschool Aquatics and Learn-to-Swim levels 1-5. The classes and information are available on our website now if you have little ones who want to swim.

I loved having swim lessons here … what better way to start your day than to visit little ones happily learning to stay safe in the water. It was an added bonus that many days my children were in the group.

I will never take my eyes off my boys when they are in the water, but I sleep better knowing they know how to be safe, can tread water and the oldest can swim across the pool if needed.
