It’s definitely getting hotter and l have to thank Willis Haviland Carrier for inventing air conditioning. But it also means that the summer is here and IllumiNights is back. This year it really is a whole new park after dark, as we made efforts park-wide to bring the festive atmosphere of the event to life with new lighted elements and thematic decor.
You’ll notice several big changes to the event this year, including our newest show, Voila! located in France. Watch as our waiters and Can-Can dancers bring the village to life as chairs stack high into the air. In Ireland, our Legend of Killarney returns with its larger-than-life puppets. This year the show has been revamped with new pyrotechnic effects and lighted decor in the village, including a sweeping lit rainbow overhead as you enter Ireland across the Killarney Bridge. In Germany, Clocktoberfest is back with a new maypole opening number complete with lavish new costumes and lit ribbons. In Italy, Giardino Magico returns with new acrobats, giant butterflies and new lighting elements that wash the columns, crepe myrtles and boxwood hedges in color as the acrobats perform. Every IllumiNights show runs at 5, 6, 8, and 9 p.m., giving you time at 7 p.m. to grab some dinner. The shorter shows also give you plenty of time to go on a few rides or shop when it’s cooler at night.
Our Tour-de-Force fireworks finale also returns this year. You can view the fireworks from anywhere in the park starting at 9:30 p.m., but my favorite spot is in Da Vinci’s Garden. Our fireworks show was specially designed just for our park with a custom-composed score that syncs with the lighting elements for the trees and columns. It’s the perfect cap to your day with us. IllumiNights will run every night through August 21. When will you experience IllumiNights?
