One of my favorite tours we offer at our park is our “Clydesdales and Collies” tour. My primary responsibility is caring for the birds, snakes and small mammals, so I don’t get to visit with the horses as much as I might like. As one of the tour guides for our Behind the Scenes tour, this is how I get my Clydesdale fix. During this 30-minute tour, I escort the guests through the Highland Stables where they meet the horses, border collies and Scottish black-faced sheep. They learn about these animals and how our dedicated team cares for them each day. This tour is appropriate for all ages, but it is one of my picks for children. Since I am only 5 feet tall, standing next to a one ton horse is a pretty awesome feeling. I can only imagine just how huge these gentle giants must look to little kids.
