Checking the Lists Twice

As a chill begins to set in and the trees turn golden and shed their leaves, the Christmas Town installation team continues to work their magic around the park. Fresh cut trees and LED lights have been popping up throughout the park since the beginning of November. These last few days are when the impactful details are added around the park to bring out the holiday magic of Christmas Town.

The garland is fluffed, bows are straightened, lights are checked, shows are completing final rehearsals, and our dedicated team of designers, installation technicians and decorators work collectively to ensure the d├ęcor of the park is flawless. Each day, more layers of the experience are added, from park-wide lighting, lit Christmas trees, the scent of cider and nutmeg filling the air, and even smiling red-jacket-clad Team Members are ready for guests to experience Christmas Town. Despite the long and busy hours preparing the park for Christmas Town, this time of year really makes you get into the spirit of giving, and for us, delivering a compelling holiday experience is something we’re excited to give to all of you.

Today, I had the chance to go on a park-wide lighting tour to check on the progress of the Christmas Town installation. Walking through Italy, we were greeted with the smell of home-made pasta and gingerbread baking. The sun had just set, and the brilliance of the sparkling gold and white trees was breathtaking. It finally hit me that in just a few days, Christmas Town will be open and the pathways will be filled with smiling guests. It seems like just yesterday I would walk the San Marco pathway with hanging potion bottles and the sounds of witches cackling during Howl-O-Scream. Italy is going to be a stellar addition to Christmas Town with amazing new culinary offerings, a million additional lights, a dazzling world-premiere production, and a few other surprises. We can’t wait for you to experience all of the exciting new additions and returning favorites of Christmas Town. See you in the park.
