I know the rumors have been circling for some time, and today I want everyone to know the wait is almost over. Soon, we’ll unveil our two-year expansion plan for Busch Gardens and Water Country USA.

I have two little boys so we visit Water Country USA many times during the summer. Small children don’t like to wait long lines, so we always have a plan for our day.

This summer has been a hot one, but it's nice to work at a water park, because when it gets too hot, you can always cool off in one of our many pools. The water always looks so refreshing when it's warm.

Our Shallow Water Guards and Lifeguards wear bathing suits and can enjoy cooling off throughout the day.

If you've had the opportunity to visit Water Country USA this summer, you may have noticed some new inhabitants. With the park's fun and beachy atmosphere, our tropical birds are fitting right in. The parrots are perched to the right of the Jet Scream entrance. Just follow the squawking.

It's been really fun to watch the birds explore their new environment as well as see the guest's reactions.

When most people think about eating at a theme park they think about hamburgers and pizza. What most people don't realize is that we offer healthier dining options at Water Country USA, as well.

Guest can find healthier dining options around the park including sub sandwiches and homemade chips, to fresh watermelon, strawberries and melon. Even lighter options such as salads are also scattered around the water park that include healthy sides.

My favorite place to eat at the park is Launch Pad. I love the variety of subs. They carry everything from Italian to chicken salad.

I hope all of you are planning on joining us at Water Country USA for Wipeout Weekends this summer. Come join our beach party at Surfer's Bay the next five weekends. Starting this weekend we will be turning up the fun on Friday and Saturday nights.

The DJ will kick it off at 4:45 p.m. every evening down at the wave pool. Then at 5 p.m. we will feature a local band for your enjoyment. This weekend's headliner is the Vinyl Headlights. They will be playing numerous 30-minute sets, but the music keeps going all night with our live DJ.
