New Additions to Our Park For 2011

Spring is in the air – I think. The weather in the Hampton Roads area has more ups and downs than Apollo’s Chariot. However, now that the park has opened for the season, we know warm weather and blue skies are just around the corner.

We have many exciting events and attractions set for 2011. I’m sure you’ll agree they are exciting. From Mach Tower to the 13th year of Howl-O-Scream to Christmas Town, we’re busy getting ready to make this one of the best yet.

It's a New Oktoberfest

So, it’s starting. The hole is dug, the rebar and footers are in and dirt is being put back in place … Mach Tower’s construction is underway. The tower, which will stand about 240 feet, will be our tallest ride, dropping guests at speeds of 60 mph. It is currently at the Moser Factory in Italy, where the finishing touches are being applied, including testing and preparing the ride to ship to Norfolk in time to open late spring.

Eating Healthy

When most people think about eating at a theme park they think about hamburgers and pizza. What most people don't realize is that we offer healthier dining options at Water Country USA, as well.

Guest can find healthier dining options around the park including sub sandwiches and homemade chips, to fresh watermelon, strawberries and melon. Even lighter options such as salads are also scattered around the water park that include healthy sides.

My favorite place to eat at the park is Launch Pad. I love the variety of subs. They carry everything from Italian to chicken salad.

Glory Takes Over the Gardens

by Staff

Kirk Franklin was at our park in all his glory yesterday, and brought the crowds with him. He was the headliner for our first Glory at the Gardens concert series and the message he spread was uplifting to all of the guests who braved the heat and humidity.

Coffee Fiend

by Staff

If I ever have to choose between arriving to work on time or getting my morning coffee, I'll pay the consequences for being late. I have to have my coffee.

If there's on thing I know as good as our wolves, it's coffee. Coffee is the thing I look forward to when I wake up in the morning. It's the thing I count on to get me through the afternoon. It's the treat I use to reinforce myself for completing all my errands.
