Did you know that at 8:30 pm on March 26, people around the globe participated in Earth Hour? This international event encouraged everyone to turn out lights at the same time as a symbolic display to raise awareness toward the need to take action on climate change. We are committed to environmental conservation and were eager to participate.
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg joined in this endeavor by switching off lights at our park for one hour. By taking part in this global “lights out” event we acknowledged our commitment to personal and operational actions that benefit the planet in the year ahead.
We turned off a variety of non-essential lights including the loop lights at Loch Ness Monster, the up-lights at Apollo’s Chariot and at Griffon, parking lot lights (once the lots were cleared) and all interior lighting as soon as the buildings were cleared.
Did you participate in Earth Hour? We would like to remind you that you can always make an environmental conservation effort by remembering to unplug unnecessary appliances, turning off your lights and encouraging your family and friends to so as well.
Until next time,
