Working the new and improved Polar Pathway has been a lot of fun for me so far this year. While the penguins are a lot of fun to watch, most people don’t get a chance to see what goes on behind-the-scenes at our animal exhibit. Not only do I get to work with all of our adorable animal ambassadors, but I get the chance to learn new things.
Something that is new for me is our giant filtration system in the back of the penguin exhibit that is used to keep the penguins’ water clean and clear. It’s a monster. It’s almost the size of the exhibit itself. It contains an ozone filter and a sand filter. It has so many pipes and filters that it can look quite intimidating. However, I think it’s exciting to learn new things, and I love that I get the chance to learn about this filter system.

It’s not as glamorous as it seems behind-the-scenes, but it’s still a lot of fun. I mean, I get to work with penguins. What could be more fun?
If you want to get a chance to see the behind-the-scenes workings of the Polar Pathway, check out one of our tours. The Ultimate Penguin Insider tour is truly a VIP tour at its best. You will get a chance to explore the Polar Pathway all by yourself while the park is closed to other guests. You’ll have a personal tour guide that will answer all your questions and give you all the information about our animal ambassadors. There’s even an opportunity for you to meet one of our penguins up-close and personal. It’s a pretty cool opportunity.

I hope you get a chance to come out and meet some of my favorite animal ambassadors this year, only at Christmas Town.
